Chicago Ranked 2nd Among Cities That Have Top Hospitals

Written by Malman Law, reviewed by Steve J. Malman.

While there seems to be a lot of negative news about patient care and nursing home abuse, there has been a report that can reassure Illinois that there is still good care. It was reported by US Health News[1] that Chicago is on the list for top hospitals in the United States. The hospitals ranked were Washington D.C., Detroit, Los Angeles, Chicago, and coming in first was New York. While the attorneys at Malman Law continue to fight for the rights of injured victims in Illinois, we are proud to hear that our city has qualified for such respectable health care.

There were 36 top ranked Chicago hospitals this year. The hospitals that came in on top in the US Health News study were well-known and local hospitals that many of us in Illinois are aware of.

Top ranked hospitals in Metro Chicago are:

Ranked No. 1 in the nation in rehabilitation was the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.

Ranked for cardiology, heart surgery and geriatrics in Oak Lawn was Advocate Christ Medical Center. Advocate was ranked No. 3 in Illinois.

Ranked in 9 specialties nationally and ranked No. 2 in Illinois was Rush University Medical Center.

Ranked in 12 specialties nationally as well as ranked No. 1 in Illinois was Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

This news is good news for all patients and their families in Illinois and Malman Law is happy to share it. Nevertheless, there is still a lot of neglect, abuse and malpractice that takes place in Illinois hospitals and especially in nursing homes. Injuries sustained due to the negligence of a facility can cost a patient and their loved ones thousands of dollars in extra medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering. If you or your loved one believe that you received negligent care by a facility, call an Illinois personal injury attorney today to learn about your rights as a victim.  Malman Law and its dedicated team of attorneys are available 24/7 for free consultation and legal advice.
