Retail establishments, including shopping centers and shopping malls, owe a duty to their customers to maintain their premises at all times and keep their premises in a reasonably safe condition. These establishments also have a duty to warn about defective conditions – or to repair those unsafe and hazardous conditions within a reasonable period of time.
