Metra Train Hits Vehicle, Causes Train Accident

On Tuesday, a Metra train crashed into a vehicle that lost traction on the snow-covered roads in Des Plaines. The driver escaped without any injuries.

The conductor was directing the train from downtown Chicago toward Des Plaines when it hit a 2005 Ford Focus at 4 p.m. near River Road.

The conductor had signaled the railroad tracks’ gates and signals to activate as the driver was trying to back out from the tracks when she lost control of the car and stalled out on the tracks. The car spun around upon impact, but the driver walked away uninjured in this Chicagoland collision. The accident damaged the woman’s car in the collision. So far, no accident lawyers have become involved or taken any legal action for the case.
