Nora H. McGuire

ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

Attorney Nora McGuire joined Malman Law as an Associate Attorney in 2020. Prior to joining the firm, Nora received her J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2019, and her B.A. from the University at Buffalo in 2015. Nora started her legal career as a law clerk in the DuPage County State’s Attorney Office where she assisted in both civil and criminal matters. In the following summers, Nora worked as a law clerk in the private sector, and she gained experience in civil litigation for the areas of personal injury and medical malpractice. During her time in law school, Nora earned a pro bono notation award. Upon passing the Illinois Bar, Nora started as a general practice attorney before working for Malman Law.

Nora focuses her practice on nursing home and long-term care facility litigation, which combines her interest in elder law with her experience in personal injury and civil litigation. She became interested in the field of elder law during law school, when she served as a member and an Executive Administrative Editor of the Elder Law Journal, which is the oldest scholarly publication in the country dedicated to addressing elder law issues. Her Note on senior financial exploitation was published in the Elder Law Journal in 2018. Particularly, Nora enjoys the complex issues that arise in elder law, and she likes advocating for clients of vulnerable populations.

Nora was born and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago, and enjoys watching the White Sox, Bears, Chicago Bandits, and the Buffalo Bills. In her free time, Nora likes to read, watch movies, and cook food from Binging with Babish.
