Serah James joined Malman Law in 2024 as an Associate Attorney. Prior to joining Malman Law, Serah received her Bachelor of Arts in Social Relations & Policy from Michigan State University in 2018. After graduating from MSU, Serah earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law in 2022.
Serah began her legal career at another law firm specializing in business litigation, trademark law, and landlord/tenant disputes, among a few areas. There, she was able to develop an understanding of civil procedure and courtroom experience and strengthened her skills in research and writing while drafting various motions for various areas of law.
During law school, Serah was an associate justice on the Moot Court Honors Council Executive Board, in which she assisted in the organization of the school’s moot court competition as well as competing at other law school’s moot court competitions. She was also a peer mentor and Teacher’s Assistant for the advanced writing course. Serah also received an award for Top Five Respondent’s Brief in the law school’s moot court competition and made it as an Octofinalist in oral arguments.
In her free time, Serah enjoys traveling, reading mystery and murder novels, hiking, and the outdoors. She also enjoys all types of dancing but mainly different varieties of Indian dance.
